Support our recovery—your action makes a difference.
Heavy rains caused severe flooding at Heal the Bay Aquarium, sending nearly two feet of water through the space in a matter of minutes.
Flooding tested our systems — preparedness strengthened our response.
Now we need your support to reopen our doors.

Thanks to our staff, no people or animals were harmed in the outfall, but exhibits were serverly damaged.
Cherished murals were destroyed and science equipment was lost.
The flood revealed a challenge—and the strength of our response. Help us reopen this community space you rely on.
Your Donation's Impact:

Your gift helps repair flood damage, restore exhibits and murals, replace lost equipment, and ensure continued science, education, and advocacy for our coast. Your support also protects endangered species that depend on our care.
These endangered species
need your help, too.
Choose a cause sponsored by Heal the Bay's animal ambassadors to help support the recovery of the aquarium they call home and the work they love to protect.

Donate now to reopen our doors and secure a thriving future for wildlife, waters, and community.
Why your donation matters.
It's been a tough few years for our coastline, our communities, and the Aquairum that advocates for them. Wildfires, toxic algal blooms, plastic pollution, and ongoing threats from climate change are putting our waters, wildlife, and infrastructure at risk. And the challenges keep coming.
In 2026, destructive flooding and vital Santa Monica Pier reconstruction threaten to impact our education, outreach, and advocacy operations.
For 20 years, Heal the Bay Aquarium has led the science, education, and advocacy you rely on to tackle the region's mounting threats and build a brighter future for Los Angeles. We are your community space, where all are welcome to learn about our precious coastal waters, resilient ecosystems, and how to protect them.
Donate today to help us reopen and continue serving our community.
